OAXACA

Located in the southwestern region of Mexico, Oaxaca is famous for its gastronomy and art. You can't leave without trying the mole and Mezcal, arguably the most famous Oaxacan products, but there are many traditional dishes to sample while here. Festivities such as Day of the Dead or the lesser known Guelaguetza, are beautiful celebrations to be a part of and the city goes all out but they do draw a crowd and many hotels get booked out in advance. There are many unique backdrops for wedding photos scattered around the city with its colonial architecture, art galleries, and more. A few of the many stunning hotels and venues include; Quinta Real Oaxaca, Hotel Casa Antonieta, Hotel Azul de Oaxaca, Jardi(accent above i)n Etnobota(accent above the a)nico de Oaxaca, and Museum of Contemporary Art of Oaxaca (MACO).

CANCUN

Cancun is usually the first, and largest, stop on the Riviera Maya on the Caribbean side of Mexico. Leave your worries behind and pamper yourself at one of the all-inclusive resorts where you are steps away from sandy white beaches and impossibly blue water. The hotel zone is located on a peninsula outside the city center and is where most of the nicer resorts, clubs, and shops are. Some hotels to look into include; Finest Playa Mujeres, Sandos Cancun Lifestyle Resort, Hyatt Zilara Cancun, Le Blanc Spa Resort, and Paradisus Cancun. If you are looking for something a little outside of the hotel zone I recommend Dreams Riviera Cancun.

ISLA MUJERES

Love the Cancun area but prefer to have your wedding somewhere a little less touristy? A short 30-minute ferry ride takes you to Isla Mujeres which offers an alternative from the chaos of Cancun. Enjoy some water activities like scuba diving or snorkeling, or check out the turtle sanctuary. Some of the top hotels are; Mia Reef Isla Mujeres, Isla Mujeres Palace, and Zoe(dots above e)try Villa Rolandi Isla Mujeres Cancun.

LOS CABOS

Los Cabos is located on the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California Peninsula. The famous tourist destination is known for its romance, vibrant beaches, and marine life. I recommend choosing a hotel close to the beaches which are located outside of the main part of town, otherwise you will have to commute. A few of the more popular hotels are; Esperanza Resort, Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, Sunset Monalisa, Sheraton Grand, and Chileno Bay Resort.

MEXICO CITY

Mexico City is known for its rich history in culture, art, fashion, and architecture, and offers a wide variety of venues. If you're a person who loves the hustle and bustle of a major metropolitan city, Mexico City will not disappoint. The museums, temples, shopping, parks, and more are all here. The city is one of the largest in the world so keep in mind that locations might take a while to get to. A few of the top wedding venues are; Projecto Pu(accent above u)blico Prim, NIMA house, PUG SEAL hotels, Plutarco Eli(accent above i)as Calles House, and Estacion Indianilla.

PUERTO VALLARTA

Located on the Pacific side of Mexico, Puerto Vallarta is a resort town filled with contemporary sculptures, bars, and nightlife. The city is filled with boutique shops and tons of restaurants plus plenty of day trips and world class fishing to keep you and your guests entertained. A few popular places to plan your wedding are; Costa Sur Resort & Spa Puerto Vallarta, Fiesta Americana Puerto Vallarta, Martoca Weddings, Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort & Spa, W Punta de Mita, and Casa Karma.

TULUM

Tulum is on the Yucatan Peninsula, just a few hours south of Cancun, but you will feel worlds away. It has a much more relaxed boho beach vibe with the same white sandy beaches and bright blue sea, minus the mega resorts. Here you can while away the days in a lounge chair at the beach/pool, take salsa or yoga classes, or check out the local ruins. A few recommendations are; The Sian Ka'an at Grand Tulum, Oscar & Lalos, Kore Tulum Retreat & Spa Resort, Ak'iin Tulum, Be Tulum Hotel, Dreams Tulum, and Casa Malca.
